Coach's Comments
After leading the Mavericks to a resounding 47-7 victory over Upper Iowa, Head Coach Todd Hoffner expressed pride in his team's performance. "We played with great intensity and discipline today, and it showed on the field," he said.
Hoffner praised the defense for limiting Upper Iowa to just seven points and forcing several turnovers. "Our defense was outstanding," he said. "They set the tone for the game and didn't let up all day."
Player Perspectives
Quarterback Hayden Ekern, who threw for 250 yards and three touchdowns, credited his teammates for their support. "The offensive line gave me great protection, and the receivers made some incredible catches," he said.
Wide receiver Max von Schleicher, who caught eight passes for 125 yards and two touchdowns, was happy with the team's execution. "We're starting to gel as a unit, and it's paying off on the field," he said.
Upcoming Schedule
With the win, the Mavericks improve to 2-0 on the season. They will next face the Bemidji State Beavers on the road on September 10th.
